“Building together with trust and curiosity makes work not only productive, but - dare I say - fun.”
I'm a co-founder of Sun Basket, which grew from zero to $300M in revenue and 1,800 employees in five years. I did whatever the business needed: building in-house creative and customer service teams, managing real estate expansions across multiple facilities, and hiring executives. I didn't just help shape the company's voice; I helped build the machine that delivered it.
The hardest moments, though, weren't operational. They came when growth outran the company's sense of what it was for, and every decision became a negotiation. During hypergrowth I often served as an organizational mediator between departments, and that's where I found the work I do now: helping leaders reconnect the business with its purpose so they can find a path forward.
After Sun Basket, I earned a master's in Organizational Development and Leadership, adding formal frameworks for strategic facilitation, systems thinking, and organizational change to decades of hands-on experience. I've since applied them with nonprofits and growing companies, and I'm currently interviewing food and craft founders about the gap between what they intended and what scaling demanded in the moment.
Before all that, I led interdisciplinary teams of 100+ people, grew online communities to millions of users, delivered network TV and corporate programming, made a feature film, and produced a live innovation seminar parody that was featured in Forbes. I bring an operator's pragmatism and a facilitator's thoughtfulness, and I'm especially drawn to work in food, climate, health, and education.
"He has a rare ability to see both the big picture and the individual, designing systems that scaled while also supporting the people behind them."
Nicole Beck, Sun Basket
